Possible solutions

After to make the prototype 8-10 we could check that the PVC tubes and the ratchets made with the laser cutter and joined together with glue It wasn't sturdy enough to withstand the weight of a person.
For that reason we decided to buy other pieces with more resistant materials.

We will replace the PVC tubes for steel tubes.

Luckily the measures are similar to the tubes used in the prototype

The problem to do the ratchets with the laser cutter is that the thickness of the wood is not big enough to do it in one piece so it has to join to the required thickness. For that we will use the ratchet bike because it use the same mechanism to turn in unique direction.

Other that we saw in the prototype is the tower because it involve the tubes but it slip with the tubes so the solution is to join the tube with the towel with velcro to don't move of the tube and dry wheels better.

Original request for help
Can there be something made that prevents the wheelchair from making the bathroom completely wet when done showering?

Feedback last meeting:
Front wheels can’t be dried with new prototype.
Marc isn’t sure if the wheelchair will stay on the platform when trying to dry the wheels.
He thinks that this prototype has potential and is better than the previous prototypes.

prototype 10

Goal: to test if it's possible to ride over the rolls with the wheelchair in 1 direction and clean in the other direction.
Now the tubes are much closer to eachother and not that much steep.

based on prototype 9

.

Expected positif:

tubes rolls in one direction

Unexpected positif:

the hight was good, not to much friction

Expected negatif:
to width, pvc tubes ore not that strong

Unexpected negatif:
3 tubes are to little. It was difficult to keep the equilibrium

prototype 9

Goal: to test if it's possible to ride over the rolls with the wheelchair in 1 direction and clean in the other direction.
Now there are beams between the rolls to avoid that the front wheels gets stuck between them.

based on prototype 8

Expected positif:
tubes rolls in one direction

Unexpected positif:

Expected negatif:
to width, front wheel gets still stuck between tubes

Unexpected negatif:
wheels gets stuck up the uphill plate in stead of the tubes.

prototype 8

Goal: to test if it's possible to ride over the rolls with the wheelchair in 1 direction and clean in the other direction.

based on prototype 4 and 7

Expected positif:
tubes rolls in one direction
Unexpected positif:

Expected negatif:
to width, front wheel gets stuck between tubes

Unexpected negatif:

prototype 7

This prototype was to test if it was possible to roll on the same place and to dry at the same place.

variation prototype 4

Expected positif:
small
Unexpected positif:

Expected negatif:
to much friction, it don't workUnexpected negatif: unless I put antislip under it, it sliped away

PROTOTYPE 6

This is a easy system to dry the wheelchair wheels and it can be adapted to the different sizes, both the front wheels and the rear wheels.

MORE IDEAS

IDEA 1:

The firs concept is similar to the some prototypes which we made (prototype 3 and 4). The idea is to use an extensible tube to open and close to the desired size so you can use it to clean only a wheel or two at the same time and also it doesn't occupy much space. The towel material must be flexible to adapt to the size.

IDEA 2

The second concept is like a big clothespin with towels on the sides and in the middle of the clothespin. It can open and put in the wheel and in the extreme it has a little roller to be easier rotate the wheel.
